JAMIE GOLDRING

Senior Development Associate
617-423-2148 x103, jgoldring@faireconomy.org

Jamie comes to UFE with a background in fundraising, communications, and marketing strategy, mostly in the not-for-profit sector, but recently in the for-profit realm. Before joining the UFE team in January 2013, he did a brief stint at Boston-based Communispace Corporation, a firm specializing in online market research—he left the company in late 2012 with the intention of returning to grassroots, cause-driven work, which had been the underpinning of everything he’d done professionally and otherwise before. Prior to Communispace, Jamie served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, heading up fundraising and public relations activities at a small Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Bath, ME. He graduated from Colby College in Waterville, ME in 2009 with degrees in Government and Environmental Studies.

Jamie was involved with several social justice and humanitarian causes during his undergraduate years, especially in the area of global health, an interest that resulted from his experience working with an NGO in Malawi, Africa during the summer of 2006. Eager to contribute to economic development and global health efforts upon his return to the United States, he founded LuziCare in 2007, a student-led fundraising and aid initiative supporting projects to improve access to healthcare in rural Malawian communities. LuziCare continues its work to this day.

Jamie is an avid skier, and pursuing his dream to live and work in a place that afforded him the opportunity to hit the slopes everyday, he moved to Taos Ski Valley, NM for the winter of 2010/2011 and worked as a ski tech. in a ski shop. He undertook two pretty ambitious road trips for his journeys to and from New Mexico, putting 7,500 on the odometer and visiting thirty-three states in the combined trips. Off the mountain, Jamie enjoys weekend adventuring, music, amateur weather forecasting, and doing anything on or near the water.
