Responsible Wealth Intern

United for a Fair Economy (UFE), located in downtown Boston, seeks an intern to work with our Responsible Wealth project (RW).

United for a Fair Economy is a national non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the growing income and wealth divide in the US; the Responsible Wealth project is a network of about 700 individuals in the top 5% of the US economy who are concerned about economic inequality and willing to use their unique voice to promote greater economic fairness.

The intern would help with a number of Responsible Wealth projects, depending on his/her skills and interests. These may include:

  • Event Planning - helping arrange logistics for events in cities around the country.
  • Member Outreach - contacting members and prospective members of the Responsible Wealth program.
  • Letters and Op-eds - Tracking articles and op-eds written on economic inequality issues; finding RW members to write letters and op-eds responding to the issues.
  • Research - conducting online research on topics related to RW and UFE's work.

Time allowing, the Responsible Wealth intern would also assist with other assorted projects relating to the Responsible Wealth project and United for a Fair Economy not listed above.

Requirements:

  • A background or interest in social and economic justice issues is necessary.
  • Previous work experience that involves research, organizing, phone calling, creative actions and/or writing is helpful.

Hours are flexible, but schedule can range from 15-40 hours per week. We will provide a free monthly MBTA pass for interns working over 20 hours per week. Travel reimbursements are available for interns working below 20 hours per week.
