Tax Fairness Organizing Collaborative Communications Intern

United for a Fair Economy seeks a dynamic, creative, and web-savvy intern to join the Tax Fairness Organizing Collaborative (TFOC) team during the spring semester. This individual will work with the TFOC Coordinator and Communications Director to provide capacity building support for our 28 tax fairness organizing groups across the country.

The Tax Fairness Organizing Collaborative, a project of United for a Fair Economy, is a network of 28 member organizations in 24 states that engage in grassroots organizing to advocate for progressive state taxes. The TFOC intern will play an integral role in crafting communications, advocacy, and press-ready documents to both support TFOC’s 28 member organizations and to elevate the profile of the Collaborative nationally.

The intern will focus on three key projects, including:

  • Research and generate content in preparation for the launch of TFOC’s new website,
  • Assist with the planning and creation of a free webinar training series on grassroots, netroots, and policy topics for tax fairness organizers and allies, and
  • Develop campaign and press resources for state organizing groups.

 Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills,
  • Familiarity with Mac operating system and MS Office,
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member, and
  • Detail-oriented with high standards quality of work.

Hours are flexible, but schedule can range from 8-40 hours per week. This is an unpaid position, but we will provide a free monthly MBTA pass for interns working over 20 hours per week. Travel reimbursements are available for interns working below 20 hours per week.
