November 2010 Estate Tax Lobby Day

Estate Tax Lobby Day and Training, November 17-18, 2010

It's time to tell Congress we want a progressive estate tax, fair taxation, and less economic inequality!

Please join United for a Fair Economy (UFE), Responsible Wealth (RW) and Voices for Progress on the afternoon of November 17th and all day on November 18th in Washington DC to meet with Senators who are critical to policy decisions on the estate tax, ending the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%, and climate change legislation. (Voices for Progress is an allied organization made up of progressive political donors, business leaders, philanthropists, and others who do direct advocacy for the public good on a range of issues.)

On Wednesday afternoon, November 17th, we’ll hold a briefing on what to say to your legislators, followed by legislative meetings. On Thursday, November 18th, we will continue to lobby Senators.  You are welcome to lobby on the estate tax, the Bush tax cuts, or climate change, or all three issues.

We hope you will join us. Participants in our previous Estate Tax Lobby Days have found speaking to members of Congress exciting and inspiring. To participate in the Lobby Day, please register below. There is no charge to participate. Attending the training on November 17 is necessary to participate.

You will take care of travel and lodging, and we will take care of scheduling, briefings, and talking points.

The estate tax briefing and Lobby Day are co-hosted by United for a Fair Economy, its Responsible Wealth project, and Voices for Progress.
