Description:   This workshop uses participatory activities to illustrate and demystify   underlying forces and the economic trends that contributed to the current economic crisis; identifies the impact on peoples' jobs, families and communities; and explores strategies for building power through a broad-based, democratic, multi-race, multi-class, social movement for economic justice. This workshop is aimed at peace and justice activists, students, workers – anyone interested in helping our towns, states, and nation construct an economy that is more equitable for everyone

The workshop is one of several events in the 24th Annual Peace Justice & Environmental Conference: Maryland Peace Means Taking Care of Ourselves, Each Other and the Earth that begins Friday evening, April 3rd & all day Saturday,

Conference Purpose: This conference will explore the various ways that peace can be promoted within ourselves, with each other and for the earth. In addition, we will hear from high school students about some of the ways that they are doing this, or strategies that they would like to implement to promote peace in their lives, their community’s lives and for the earth.

Cost: Conference registration before March 25th is $25; after, $30. Students: $10.
