The Massachusetts Budget Crisis

The Massachusetts Budget Crisis: Who Hurts? Who Pays?

This 60-90 minute, interactive workshop reviews the Massachusetts budget and the current crisis – with an emphasis on Question 1, the ballot initiative to eliminate the state income tax.

The workshop also considers how the worsening budget crisis has impacted our life and the lives of people we know, demonstrates that unwise tax cuts in the 1990s was an important factor leading to the current budget crisis, and explores opportunities to advocate for continuing to close corporate tax loopholes as a crucial way to raise revenue to deal with the budget shortfall.
