Record a Don't Coddle Me! Video

The Don't Coddle Me! project is collecting stories

Do you believe the wealthy should pay more to stop deep budget cuts and fund important public services? We want to hear about it! See what others are saying on the Don't Coddle Me! Tumblr.

Step 1: Develop your statement
  • Who are you? Details to include: Your name (first name only is okay), where you're from, your occupation, family situation and anything else that you feel is interesting or relevant.
  • What taxpayer-funded program(s) do you value most? Why are they important to you? What's at stake if funding for those programs is reduced? Why were you inspired to do this video?
  • What should be done? What policies or reforms should Congress pass to protect those services?
  • Finally, say it: "I don't expect to be coddled when it comes to my taxes and neither should the wealthy."
Step 2: Record your video

Record a 1-minute video using a flip cam, smartphone, or webcam. Be candid, clear and concise (examples here).

Step 3: Post your video
  • Upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr or another video hosting service.
  • Submit your testimonial directly to the Don't Coddle Me Tumblr (see below). Alternatively, you can email the embeddable code for your video to [email protected]. Write your post title as the subject line of the email.

Need help posting your video? Send UFE's Communications Team your raw footage (as a DV, MP4 or MOV file). You can upload your video to (it’s totally free) and send the download link to [email protected]. We'll post your testimonial for you.
