Sara Sargent is very excited to move into the role of Resource Mobilization Director at United for a Fair Economy. She joined the UFE team as the Development and Operations Associate in February 2019 and transitioned to her new role in November 2019. She leads UFE's fundraising and donor engagement work. She is passionate about supporting social justice movements through organizing donors and philanthropists to fund transformative organizing work. She is also very interested in the role of popular education and healing justice work in learning about and healing from systems of oppression in our society.

Sara grew up in Southeastern Connecticut and studied Education and Art History in college. Since a young age, she has been interested in community service and activism, including attending protests against the Iraq war with her family. Since graduating from college, she has worked in museum education, English as a Second Language teaching, and volunteer management. She has also lived in Mexico and Peru. Three years ago, Sara became involved in Resource Generation, which organizes young adults with class and wealth privilege for the equitable redistribution of land, wealth and power. She is a member and leader in the Boston chapter and has helped to organize fundraisers, workshops and retreats. Sara also loves being a member of The Boston Ujima Project, a local solidarity economy project.

She has a BA in Education from Smith College and a Graduate Certificate in Mindfulness Studies from Lesley University.

She loves dancing, creating art, traveling and hosting parties!
