In late October 2021, over two dozen trainees and facilitators attended the Training of Trainers held at the new Avila Retreat Center. This was the first time we held one of our classic training of trainers experiences in over a year. Participants followed a 3-day training on the issue of persistent and growing racial and economic inequality in the U.S.

According to a new report from ProPublica, the wealthiest US taxpayers pay an true tax rate that is far below that of a normal worker.
Perhaps most concerning is that the ways the wealthy avoid paying taxes are legal under current rules. This is another example of our economy working in favor of those at the very top, not everyday people. We need to tax income from wealth like income from work is. Imagine what the additional revenue from taxing wealth could do in the communities that made that wealth possible.
