We've just finished hosting the Living Wage Network at the Avila Center for their conference and retreat in Durham, North Carolina! A few days felt like much longer as we learned, built, and planned together for the work ahead. UFE is proud to be supporting the living wage network and helping to grow the movement for living wages!

Living wage certification recognizes employers who pay workers fairly, significantly impacting the lives of tens of thousands of workers across the country.
The Living Wage Network is composed of living wage certification programs from a number of states that recognize employers who pay a living wage. These programs lift up employers who believe it is good business to pay livable wages to all workers. Over 2,500 small and medium sized businesses across the country have certified their willingness to pay a living wage to their employees.
The retreat was attended by both members of the Network, and allied non-member organizations. Groups present included:
- Prosper Georgetown
- Harrisonburg-Rockingham Living Wage Campaign
- Nashville Living Wage
- Orange County Living Wage
- Durham Living-Wage
- Living Wage Virginia
- Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy
- Tompkins County Workers' Center
- Just Economics of WNC
