Worker Stories Video #3 Released

Another video in our new series is now available! In this third episode we hear from Marino, a farm worker in North Carolina. He tells us, “If all types of work here in the United States received a fair wage, we would all benefit.”

Some crops are harder than others, and there are good days and bad days with every harvest. In particular, “Tobacco is very hard work, because of the chemicals that they put on the tobacco. It’s really bad for you to be absorbing those chemicals.” That’s why, Marino explains, “The most important thing we can do is get organized and demand fair work and fair pay for all of us who have low-paying jobs.”

Thank you for taking the time to listen to Marino’s story. Together we can spread the word on worker’s rights and grow the movement for economic justice across the south. Learn more by visiting the series's homepage
